HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - Gov. Phil Bryant has declared a state of emergency in Harrison County following the heavy rains and flooding that inundated the area and overwhelmed emergency services last Thursday.
Many homes and businesses were flooded by the more than 10 inches of rain that fell in some areas.
The state of emergency declaration allows local governments to work with state assessment teams to determine what federal assistance will be available.
If you live in Gulfport and your home or business was damaged in the flood, you need to call the Harrison County Emergency Management Office at 228-865-4002 or 311 by Monday, May 9, to report damages.
