GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - New information released surrounding a 34th Avenue murder investigation. Gulfport police arrested 19 year old Warren Jevon Perkins. He is facing a second degree murder charge.
Police say Perkins killed 63-year-old Aaron Wilson sometime early Sunday morning. According to a Gulfport Police Department news release, the teenage suspect was caught on surveillance cameras leaving Wilson's home.
Investigators say the victim and Perkins were inside the residence. During that time, Perkins reportedly used a hand gun to shoot the victim. The suspect allegedly took off. Police found him hours later in his own home.
Wilson was found dead by his cousins inside his home just after 10:30 Sunday morning. Loved ones gathered at the scene for hours despite the pouring rain. They say they're in disbelief someone could take Wilson's life.
Even though his nickname was "Trouble", friends and family say it was the total opposite of his character.
