HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - Jourdan River Shores residents are scrambling to prepare for flood waters.

The Jourdan River is expected to continue to rise as the day goes on. Hancock County EMA Director Brian Adam said it's the result of the heavy rainfall the coast has seen over the past few days.

Adam said sand and sand bags will be available at the Hancock County Horse Arena after 3 p.m. You will have to bring your own shovel to scoop the sand.
