It appears that many Mississippi drivers are thoroughly confused. Confused about what to do when a green light switches to yellow. To these confused people, that change from green to yellow means hurry up or even go faster. For those not confused, it means take your foot off the accelerator and put it on the brake pedal. In other words, start stopping.
That is, unless you are so close to the intersection when the light turns yellow that stopping would be dangerous. Approach a green traffic signal at a safe speed, so you can stop if it switches yellow. Then you don't end up racing through what was a yellow light, now a red light intersection. That scenario to often results in a wreck, injury or even death, all because a driver decided yellow meant to go faster.
