GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

Around 7:30 Tuesday evening Lenell Balle said he heard a loud noise then a massive oak tree fell narrowly missing him.

"It happened so fast I didn't know what was going on. What did it sound like? All we heard was a cracking noise. Somebody said duck and I just ducked and the tree escaped the back of my head," Balle said.

He said the tree crushed his red 2011 Silverado and landed over another truck. Balle said he also witnessed the tree falling over one man knocking him unconscious.

The two vehicles were parked just outside Magee's Grocery store at the 2200 block of 31st Avenue in Gulfport. Gulfport firefighters responded to the scene. A chainsaw was used, but it wasn't enough to move the tree.

"One guy was standing in the front, in between these two trucks. That's when it knocked him out. We had to pull him out from under the tree," said Balle.

The city is working on bringing in heavy machinery to help move the tree. We are told one person received minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.
