Perkinston man pleads guilty to child porn charge

STONE COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - A Perkinston man is facing up to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to a child pornography charge on April 21.

Detective Sgt. Richard Gulledge, with the Wiggins Police Department, said William Woodward pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to one count of access with intent to view child pornography.

Gulledge said Woodward was being investigated by the Gulf Coast Cyber Crimes Task Force for a case involving the downloading of child porn and the sexual exploitation of children.

Agents served a search warrant at Woodward's Perkinston home on Feb. 12. He was arrested and charged with access with intent to view child pornography. He was later indicted on that charge in March.

Woodward remains behind bars at the Stone County Regional Correctional Facility. His sentencing is set for July 7.
