GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

A D’Iberville teen is accused of shooting at another teen in the Pine Hill subdivision of Gulfport. The alleged shooter is charged with aggravated assault.

Gulfport Police Department spokesman Sgt. Damon McDaniel said officers responded to a call of shots fired on George St. around 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

McDaniel said a teen on the scene told officers an unknown suspect shot at him and then ran away. The teen was not injured by the gunfire.

Police are still working to find out what led to the shooting.

Investigators later identified the 16-year-old from D’Iberville as the suspect involved in the shooting and issued a warrant for his arrest.

McDaniel said the teen turned himself in to Gulfport police Friday. The teen was booked into the Harrison County Adult Detention Center on a $250,000 bond.

The investigation is ongoing.
