KEESLER AFB, BILOXI (WLOX) - A training exercise going on at Keesler Air Force Base will better prepare first responders for real-world scenarios. The training is officially called CBRNE, which stands for chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosives.
The training involved a simulated explosion and several mock victims. First responders on base, including a hazmat team, worked the scenario to hone their skills and better prepare for a real-life emergency situation.
The exercise started this morning and is expected to last for several hours. Officials said the simulation will not affect travel on base.
