OXFORD, MS (AP/WLOX) - Life in prison, without the possibility of parole. That's what's next for one of the men accused in the killing of a Gulfport man at his apartment in Oxford.
According to the Oxford Eagle, Derick Boone received that sentenced for his role in the 2013 murder of Ole Miss grad student Zach McClendon. Boone pleaded guilty to the crime.
Investigators say three men went into the 25-year-old's apartment, and that's when one suspect shot the victim in the back of the head. After the shooting, the trio is accused of stealing McClendon's car, along with electronics and textbooks that they later sold.
As for the other two accused in the case, they have not yet gone to trial.
