PRCC will host Inaugural High School All-Star games on Thursday

PRCC head coaches Scott Fletcher and Chris Oney, along with assistants Shakira Nettles and Scott Sommers will coach the the teams in the inaugural all-star basketball games.

Four games will be played at M.R, White Coliseum beginning at 5 p.m. for senior girls, senior boys, underclassmen girls and boys.

Pearl River women's head coach Scott Fletcher said, coach Oney and I have a vision for our program. We wanted to give the local players a chance to be exposed, to be rewarded for their hard work, on and off the court."

The players participating were selected in the traditional six-county PRCC district, hailing from Forrest, Hancock, Jefferson Davis, Lamar, Marion and Pearl River counties.  Several players from other surrounding schools in South Mississippi will also compete.

Coaches from the high schools nominated two players from each team.

"It's a great recruiting tool for each of our programs to be able to see these players and build relationships with the up-and-coming players, as well as the coaches, "stated Fletcher.

Admission is $8 and a concession stand will be open for fans in attendance.
