GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

Two weeks after a fire destroyed a building belonging to the Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, a Gulfport man has been charged with first degree arson.

According to City of Gulfport Fire Investigator and Inspector Tim Regan, 24-year-old Thierre Marshay Moore, a.k.a. "Tension", was arrested at his home on Wednesday.

Gulfport Fire Chief Michael Beyerstedt noted that “he was pleased with the interagency cooperation" that led to the arrest.

If convicted, Moore could face a maximum of 20 years in prison.
