GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

Sunday marks the end of the spring break tradition taking the Gulf coast by storm.

Quionsha Gomez and her friends came all the way from Florida to enjoy the festivities, wrapping up the trip at Cabana Beach Bar and Grill in Gulfport.

"I think it's nice. It's a good little break from Pensacola. Something different. We've never been here before," said Gomez.

That fun will soon be over. However, for Robert Phillips, the fun has just begun. "We leaving in 2 more weeks. We loving it down here. We was gon' leave Monday, but nah... we got 2 more weeks," said Phillips.

For Gulfport native Laura Taylor, it's a chance to come back home and celebrate with old friends. "It's wonderful. All the people together. Everybody's having fun. Everybody's enjoying themselves. We're not acting crazy, it's good," said Taylor.

Even though the celebration is winding down, a lot of these spring breakers will continue to celebrate until the sun goes down. "I'm just down here kickin' it with my cousin and his old lady, having a good time showing Arkansas some love," said Phillips.

"We gonna go out with a bang. But we want the world to know that spring break or anytime, the Mississippi Gulf Coast is the new destination for all the people in America to come," said Cabana Beach Bar and Grill owner, Glenn Bates.

Most spring breakers say they'll definitely be back again next year.
