BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

Traffic on Highway 90 is bumper to bumper across most of Biloxi, and it's only expected to get heavier as the night rolls on.

Almost every road in West Biloxi has bumper to bumper traffic. Even Popp's Ferry is backed up almost to Cedar Lake.

Parking and service bays along Hwy 90 are closed to ease pedestrian activity.

Around 6pm, police were closing southeast traffic at Eisenhower and Walmart Lane, and sending all traffic west to at least Cowan Road. A few hours before that, officers started overriding traffic signals at Beauvoir, Veterans, and Rodenburg.

If you think taking the side streets will be easier, be prepared for delays there, too. Traffic has been heavy on Pass Road and Popp's Ferry Road throughout the day Saturday.

Biloxi Police Chief John Miller estimates between 15,000 to 25,000 spring breakers are in Biloxi at the moment.
