BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - People in attendance say it has been a beautiful day for golf at the Mississippi Golf Resort Classic.
With 81 pros working a double shift at Fallen Oak, if they aren't playing, they're watching as a spectators, or volunteering.
Although the players may be the main attraction, the event wouldn't be much without the hundreds of volunteers doing everything from hushing the crowd, to transporting media and players where they need to go. More than 700 volunteers turned out to assist with the game.
In the previous year, 20,000 to 25,000 people enjoyed the tournament and helped to generate $15.5 million and economic benefits.
WLOX News Now spoke with several volunteers and spectators to find out what keeps them coming back some for the first time and others who've been here since the tournament started in 2010.
Tonight at 10, we'll have additional details on how the classic impacts the Coast.
