Jackson County Wildfire Under Control

Most of Thursday afternoon's wild fires are out, or under control, in Jackson County. Around 9 o'clock Thursday night the last of the volunteer fire departments left the scene. Sheriff Mike Byrd says the fire is out except for a few spots that will burn out on their own.

All of the residents that were evacuated earlier in the day were allowed back in to their homes Thursday night. The sheriff's department along with the Highway Patrol will watch the area to make sure nothing flares back up.
