Autopsy results reveal how Donta Banks died

JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

Investigators in Jackson County now know how Donta Lashawn Banks died. Initial autopsy results from the State Crime Lab in Jackson show Banks died from a gunshot to the head.

Banks’ body was found on a dirt road in the St. Andrews area on Tuesday.

Hubert Patrick Anderson and Rita Olivia Johnston have been charged with capital murder in the case. Anderson is also charged with felony fleeing in Harrison County

Johnston’s initial court appearance is scheduled for Friday. Anderson will have his initial appearance after he is transferred to the Jackson County Adult Detention Center.

Anderson and Johnston will be held without bond until the case is heard by a grand jury. If convicted of capital murder, the pair could face death or life in prison.
