GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

A home in Gulfport is considered a total loss after it went up in flames Wednesday night.

According to Gulfport Fire Chief Michael Beyerstadt, the blaze was intentionally set.

Mike Bond with the Gulfport Fire Department says a neighbor called in the fire at the home at 14413 2nd Street, just after 6:30 p.m.

When firefighters arrived, they saw flames shooting out of the roof. They were able to knock it down in about five minutes. Bond says there was no power at the vacant home.

No injuries were reported.

Bond said about 17 firefighters responded to the scene, with four engines, a truck company, and two command trucks.
