JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - Jackson County Sheriff Mike Ezell has identified the man who was found dead on a dirt road in the St. Andrews area Tuesday morning.

Ezell said a deputy found the body of Donta Lashawn Banks, of Biloxi, near the intersection of North St. and Cook St. around 8:30 a.m.

Hubert Patrick Anderson, 35, and Rita Olivia Johnston, 36, have been charged with capital murder in relation to the case, according to Ezell.

Anderson and Johnston were arrested Tuesday night after leading Biloxi police on a high speed chase through the Sunkist neighborhood.

The chase ended when the vehicle Anderson was driving slammed into a home on Lackland Dr. Investigators confirm that vehicle belonged to Banks, 29.

Johnston was arrested at the scene of the crash, and was taken to Merit Health Biloxi to be treated for her injuries. Anderson ran and hid in a carport connected to a nearby house, according to Ezell. He was arrested with the help of a K9 unit a short time later.

Anderson is also charged with felony fleeing.
