D'Iberville Back Bay Casinos Get Okay From Gaming Commission

Casino supporters in D'Iberville won a victory from the Mississippi State Gaming Commission Thursday.

The commission approved gaming for sites along the north shore of Biloxi's Back Bay, as long as they are within 1,200 feet of the center line of the Interstate 110-bridge.

The approval came after numerous meetings. D'Iberville Mayor Rusty Quave and other city leaders have vigorously pursued casino development in the city for the past four years.

Mayor Quave says the city has had numerous inquires from companies looking to locate a casino there.
