BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

Biloxi police have made an arrest in connection with a shooting that killed one man late Monday night.

Sgt. O’Neil Adams said Jesse Marquerius King, 27, turned himself in to police after a warrant was issued for his arrest. King is charged with the murder of Leonardo White.

Adams said officers responded to the intersection of Lameuse St. and Division St. around 10:30 p.m. after a call came in about an injured person lying on the ground. That’s where they found White, who was reportedly shot one time in the leg.

Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove said White, 22, died at Merit Health Biloxi shortly after 11:30 p.m.

Adams said investigators determined the shooting happened in the 200 block of Delauney St. After interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence, King was named as a suspect.

King is being held at the Harrison County jail without bond, because he was out on bond for a previous felony charge.

Adams said the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information that could help police in this investigation should call Biloxi police at 228-435-6112 or Crime Stoppers at 1-877-787-5898.
