GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - Phone issues at the Harrison County Courthouse in Gulfport are affecting any residents summoned to jury duty this week.
According to officials at the courthouse, any resident summoned for circuit court jury duty for Monday, March 21, is not required to report.
Residents who receive a summons for jury duty typically are asked to call a number, where they then receive a message informing them whether or not to report for jury duty. However, officials say the messaging system is not working and may not be repaired by Monday.
If you have received a summons for March 21, you are not required to appear, but you are asked to call the circuit clerk's office at 228-865-4145 or 228-865-4146 after 6 p.m. on Monday.
