1 suspect arrested following car burglaries; 1 juvenile on the run

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Following multiple car burglaries, the Biloxi Police Department has made one arrest and is searching for a second suspect.

According to officials, officers responded to a burglary in progress call in the 1600 block of Beach Blvd. around 10 a.m. Thursday morning. A witness told police they noticed two suspects attempting to enter a parked car, and later entering a different car and rummaging through it.

When BPD arrived to the scene, the suspects ran. Police caught 22-year-old John Lewis Chase III of Vancleave, Miss. The second suspect, who was identified as a juvenile, got away.

Upon further investigation, police found multiple burglarized vehicles.

Chase was arrested and charged with two counts of auto burglary, and attempted burglary of an automobile. Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain issued a $25,000 bond for each charge, totaling $75,000.
