BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Biloxi's mayor is speaking out about the infrastructure project in the east part of the city. Mayor FoFo Gilich spoke on several topics of interest at Breakfast with the Mayor Wednesday morning.
Among some of the topics discussed were plans to relocate the main gate at Keesler Air Force Base, and to install fiber optic Internet access across the Coast. Roadwork in East Biloxi was also widely talked about.
City officials say they are spending $650,000 to repave major streets in that part of town.
"Well, it has been frustrating, because you've got a number of people involved in say, yeah, let's execute this relief plan. You've got the contractors and engineers and you've got our staff in trying to figure out what is the best way to get the biggest bang for the buck," said Gilich.
Paving on main streets from the railroad tracks north to Division Street will begin Thursday morning.
