BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Biloxi's mayor is speaking out about paving plans for East Biloxi.
The city's infrastructure project was one of several topics Mayor Fofo Gilich addressed at Wednesday morning's breakfast with the mayor.
City officials are spending $600,000 to re-pave major streets in East Biloxi. Gilich says the temporary paving work is designed to bring relief to residents.
"Well, it has been frustrating," said Gilich. "Because you've got a number of people involved that say, 'Yeah, let's execute this relief plan.' You've got the contractors and engineers, and you've got our staff in trying to figure out what is the best way to get the biggest bang for the buck."
Paving on the main streets from the railroad tracks north to Division Street will begin Thursday morning, as long as the weather allows.
