GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

The Gulfport Police Department has arrested two suspects wanted in connection with a March 14 shooting that left a victim with a gunshot wound to the head

Sgt. Damon McDaniel with GPD says 19-year-old Craig Elliott Sandifer and 20-year-old Kenneth Wayne Brassell, Jr. were both taken into custody on Thursday, March 17 and charged with aggravated assault.

Brassell turned himself in at the Gulfport Police Department, and Sandifer was found and taken into custody at home near Ohio Ave. and Monroe St.

Brassell was given a $1,000,000 bond, and Sandifer was given a $100,000 bond. Both were transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Facility.

Police responded to a call near the Kentucky Fried Chicken on E. Pass road shortly after midnight March 14, where they found a male victim who had been shot in the head. The victim was reportedly in the parking lot when two suspects shot him, before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.

Sandifer and Brassell were identified as suspects during a follow-up investigation, and warrants were issued for their arrest.
