BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources will hold informational meetings Tuesday to discuss new details surrounding the Blue Crab Restoration Program.
The plan calls for removing derelict crab traps from the Mississippi Sound, waterways and marshes in Hancock, Harrison and Jackson Counties.
Officials believe the trap removal program will be very successful and have a positive impact on the environment.
DMR will hold the first meeting for eligible participants at 9 a.m. A second meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Both meetings will be held at the auditorium of the Bolton Building in Biloxi.
The program will begin sometime in April.
