BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Many homeowners in East Baton Rouge Parish are now left with a massive cleanup project following this flooding.

On Tiger Bend Road, Van Le and her family have lived in the same home for four years, and they say they have never seen anything like this level of flooding before.

Le's backyard, driveway, carpet, and furniture were damaged. She said the hardest part is explaining to her two young children what happened.

"They're both under three so it's just really stressful getting that situated… Getting that back to normal,” says Van Le. “Their toys are probably ruined. And you know, I don't know if they fully understand it. I brought our daughter out and she was like ‘Who did all this water mommy? Who did this?’”

Le isn’t sure how much the repairs are going to cost. She is hoping insurance will cover most of the damage.
