GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - Friends of the late Brody "BJ" Brown are hoping to raise money with a benefit car wash they are holding in memory of the Stone County man.

The car wash is being held Sunday, beginning at 11 a.m., at Auto Zone on Hwy. 49 in Gulfport.

All of the donations accepted will go to help Brown's wife, Jenny and their two small children as they cope with the aftermath of his unexpected and tragic death. Friends of the family hope that the money raised will help with some of the expenses the Brown family is now facing.

Brown, 31, disappeared last weekend during an event at Muddy Joe's, a campground in the Kiln. His body was found in a pond on the property four days later, where the Hancock County coroner says he drowned.

The father of two was last seen Saturday night at 9 p.m. when he separated from the group to use the restroom.

More than 230 volunteers in the community, as well as several law enforcement agencies, helped search the area where Brown was last seen.
