BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - As the Easter Bunny prepares to hop along the Coast, cities around the area have planned events to celebrate the holiday.
The Salvation Army Kroc Center will host an Easter egg hunt for children at Yankie Field, next to their Division Street facilities. There will be games and prizes available to win. All activities are free to the public, but a $1 donation to the center is appreciated. Call (228) 207-1218.
Children ages 11 and under, and their parents are invited to the Hiller Park Barbara Ferrill Softball Fields, located at 1940 Edgers Rd. for an afternoon of fun activities including a carnival, egg hunt, inflatables and an appearance by the Easter Bunny. The Easter egg hunt will begin at 3 p.m.
The first ever Easter egg drop to take place at MGM Park at 875 Beach Blvd. in Biloxi. More than 12,000 eggs filled with treats will be dropped onto the field from a helicopter. Three egg hunts will take place according to age groups. There will also be activities outside of the park, including bounce houses, games and a special guest appearance by the Easter Bunny. Admission is free, but a wristband will be required to enter.
Mentally and physically challenged children and their parents are invited to the Biloxi Town Green, located at 710 Beach Blvd. for a afternoon of games, egg hunting, lunch and pictures with the Easter Bunny. The Easter egg Hunt will begin at 10 a.m.
Children, friends and family members of all ages are invited to bring their own baskets and hunt for eggs at Rock Creek Community, located at 9009 River Birch Dr. Food and refreshments will be provided.
The annual Easter egg hunt at Jones Park will begin at 2 p.m., with the egg hunt starting at 3 p.m. Participants should enter at Hwy. 90 / 49 entrance. All activities will are free and open to the public.
Kids are invited to Little Children's Park on Washington Ave. to hunt for eggs from 9 a.m. - noon. There will be refreshments, prize drawings and pictures with the Easter bunny. Children must bring their own bag to collect eggs.
Pascagoula Parks and Recreation will host the 38th Annual Easter egg hunt at the Pascagoula Recreation Center. The Easter Bunny will be in attendance with more than 21,000 eggs. Four egg hunts will take place according to age groups:
5:30 p.m., children ages 1 - 3
6:00 p.m., children ages 4 - 5
6:30 p.m., children ages 6 - 8
7 p.m., children ages 9 - 12
The Easter egg hunt is free and open to the public, children will need to bring their own Easter basket. Adults are asked to remain on the perimeter and supervisor their children during the hunt. F
The Easter egg hunt will be held at Shepard State Park and is free to the public. Children will also be able to take a free photo with the Easter Bunny, courtesy of Gautier Walgreens.
