D'IBERVILLE, MS (WLOX) -

A former D’Iberville football player who recently signed a scholarship with The University of Texas at San Antonio has been arrested and charged with armed robbery.

Jaquell Green, 18, was recruited as a four star defensive back, according to rivals.com.

Capt. Marty Griffin, with the D’Iberville Police Department, said officers pulled over a vehicle driving erratically and without headlights on Lamey Bridge Rd. just south of the Rivers Edge subdivision late Thursday night.

Griffin confirmed Green was driving the vehicle.

During the traffic stop, officers got a call from a Domino’s delivery driver reporting they had just been robbed at gunpoint. The driver reported cash was taken from them, but they were not injured.

Griffin said evidence recovered from the traffic stop led to the arrest of Green, Alloyshious Bennett, 18, and two juveniles on charges of armed robbery.

Bond for the suspects was set at $100,000 each. The juveniles are being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center due to the severity of the crime, according to Griffin.
