PEARL RIVER COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - The National Weather Service is reporting the tornado that touched down in Pearl River County was an EF1. That information was released Friday morning.

According to the preliminary report, the twister reached wind speeds of 105 miles per hour Tuesday afternoon. The tornado began near Donley Burks Road just west of Highway 413. The report indicates the tornado then moved northeast for 9.7 miles and ended around Osborn Moody Road in Poplarville. The tornado had a maximum width of 150 yards.

The National Weather Service said a few homes in Pearl River County suffered minor to moderate damage.
