BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - On Thursday, IP Casino in Biloxi handed out $1 million to area charities.
More than 25 coastal charities received a generous contribution from the Boyd Gaming IP Casino Charitable Foundation, which will all them to continue running programs.
"It's huge," said Brooke Shoultz with the Boys and Girls Club. "A $60,000 donation; IP has always been so generous to us. We've gotten this donation for several years and we couldn't do what we do without it."
The Bacot McCarty Foundation in Jackson County received $200,000.
"From the non-profit perspective this is a game changer," said Bacot McCarty's Todd Trenchard. "It allows us to help a lot of non profits who otherwise would not get any funding with a sluggish economy."
The IP Charities Foundation has given away more then $6 million dollars since it started in 2006.
