D'IBERVILLE, MS (WLOX) - With less than two weeks until the presidential primaries, there has been a change in polling locations for one of Harrison County's largest districts.
District 1 voters usually cast their ballots at the D'iberville Civic Center. However, for the upcoming election, voters will have to do so next door at the D'iberville Multipurpose Center. The reason: a children's consignment pop-up shop that's already scheduled at the civic center for the entire week.
Circuit Clerk Connie Ladner says Harrison County District 1 officials are doing what they can to make the multi-purpose building handicap accessible, and moving things around inside to make room for voting booths.
"We've met here today with the District 1 representatives today who have been very accommodating, and are willing to do whatever they can to ensure that no voter is turned away or discouraged so that they leave without voting," said Ladner.
Ladner says district officials have promised her that they will have people in front of the civic center to redirect voters over to the multipurpose building before they get all the way to the front door.
