The New Orleans Saints are trying to become a consistent NFL contender and to do that, teams must keep talent on hand. Good news wide receiver Willie Jackson will return to New Orleans agreeing to a one-year free agent deal on Tueday.
The 6-1 212 pound Jackson excelled in the Saints playoff victory over the St. Louis Rams grabbing 3 touchdown passes, tying an NFL playoff game record. During the season Willie hauled-in 37 catches for 523 yards and a career-high six touchdowns. He led the NFL in postseason receptions yards with 267 and tied for the lead in postseason points with 24.
The Saints will ink 20 undrafted rookies Thursday, reporting to the team's first weekend minicamp this week. Two players from the University of Arkansas have reached agreements. One of them, Boo Williams should scare defensive backs in practice this weekend. He's a 6-4 234 pound receiver who snagged 52 passes and 7 touchdowns. He could be a steal.
Razorbacks linebacker J.J. Williams made 64 tackles last season... 37 solo's. Northwestern La. State offensive lineman Albert Traylor and Texas kicker Kris Stockton reached tentative agreements with the Saints.
