Six still wanted after Hancock Co. drug roundup nets 13 arrests

HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

More than a dozen people were thrown into Hancock County jail cells Friday, all accused of drug crimes. The suspects are from Bay St. Louis, Waveland and the Kiln.

A news release from the sheriff’s department says they’re charged with either selling illegal drugs, possessing drugs, or in one case selling a counterfeit controlled substance.

One interesting note linked to the drug roundup: Hancock County investigators say a couple of the suspects arrested are the same people nabbed last week by Waveland police. Hancock County investigators say six more suspects will end up in jail by the time Operation Push Back is over. The sheriff said it’s his goal to disrupt the sale and distribution of illegal narcotics in Hancock County. The Hancock County Narcotics Task Force, the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics and Waveland Police teamed up on the Friday morning drug sweep.
