Mississippi Gulf Coast soccer signs strong classes in both the men's and women's programs

PERKINSTON, MS (WLOX) - Mississippi Gulf Coast men's soccer coach Chris Handy ended the signing period with 10 players.

Lady Bulldogs head coach Jackie Rhodes inked five players.

Under coach Handy, the Bulldogs advanced to the MACJC semifinals last season and he believes his latest signees will help propel MGCCC even further.

He said, "If I were to describe this class in one word it would be versatile.  There are only one or two players on this list that I could guarantee what position they will play.  It is very exciting as a coach to know you have so many versatile players to work with when putting together a line up of next year."

Here is a list of the players who inked on the dotted line:

Gulf Coast women's coach Jackie Rhodes is confident the five players signed so far will help her team.

"I think this is one of our strongest classes since I've been here, "Rhodes said.  "It's a solid offensive class w brought in to try to create more offensive threats.  Our defense was pretty solid last years, and we're adding some defensive players, but overall we want to create more offense."

Rhodes is also targeting international players to add to her signing class. They'll be added at a later date.
