Fire causes heavy damage to Gulfport home

GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

More than a dozen firefighters battled a blaze at a home in Gulfport.

Someone called 911 late Sunday morning to report the fire on 25th Street and Oak Avenue. When firefighters arrived, they saw flames shooting through the roof.

It took 18 firefighters about 15 to 20 minutes to bring the fire under control.

No one was home at the time of the fire, and no one was injured. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
