Potential for Monday severe weather persists

Much of the southeast will see wet weather on Monday. Much of the southeast will see wet weather on Monday.
SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) -

As a Monday cold front approaches from the west, there will be a potential for severe weather from south Louisiana to the western Florida panhandle. This includes all of the WLOX-TV area in South Mississippi.

Expected rainfall amounts through Monday night range from about half an inch up to about one-and-a-half inches, with a few locally heavier totals. Some thunderstorms will be strong to severe. The threats with any severe storms on Monday and would be damaging wind gusts, quarter-sized hail, and a tornado or two.

When will the storms arrive?

"It looks like the highest chance for rain in South Mississippi on Monday during the afternoon," stated WLOX Meteorologist Wesley Williams on Monday.
