SAUCIER, MS (WLOX) -

Coast Electric is warning about a man posing as one of their employees, who is going door-to-door. The electric company said he's already tried to gain access to the homes of two members in the Saucier area.

Coast Electric said the man knocks on the front door and claims he needs to inspect a breaker box inside the home.

One of the victims said after they let the man inside, he stole a purse from the home.

Coast Electric wants its members to know that their employees will never ask to enter your home, unless you've already scheduled an appointment for a home energy audit. Coast Electric also does not service any equipment inside its members' homes.

Any Coast Electric employee should be driving a marked vehicle and should be able to produce a company badge, if asked.

If you believe someone posing as a Coast Electric employee has tried to get inside your home, you should contact local authorities and also report the incident to Coast Electric at 877-769-2372.
