LONG BEACH, MS (WLOX) -

Mapping out the future was the lesson plan today at Long Beach High School. The school district hosted its annual college and career fair Thursday morning at the high school.

It was open to more than 900 students, from freshman to seniors. The event, which was held in the school gymnasium, featured more than 60 colleges, businesses and industries.

Many of the representatives set up elaborate displays where students could actually learn about pathways to success. Students went from display to display, seeing what options are available for them in the future.

Those options included anything from going to college, becoming a policeman, working for heavy industry or even careers in the medical or financial fields.

Many of the students seemed impressed by the career and college fair, saying it gave them a better idea of what they may want to do in the future as they are getting closer and closer to making a choice that will impact and guide them for the rest of their lives.
