SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) - Temperatures dipped below freezing across most of South Mississippi on Wednesday morning. The coldest reported low temperature in South Mississippi on February 10th came from Kiln, Mississippi; they cooled to a teeth-chattering 23 degrees during the early dawn hours.
It was also cold, but not quite as cold, for locations near the coast: Biloxi, Pascagoula, and Bay St. Louis also reported low temperatures in the middle and lower 30s. "The normal mid-February low temperature for South Mississippi is in the lower 40s. So, it was much colder than normal this morning," commented WLOX Meteorologist Wesley Williams.
Will this cold weather continue?
Not likely. The forecast actually calls for a warm up. "Wednesday night could bring a few middle 30s to areas well inland," Williams mentioned. "But, folks along the Mississippi coast should only cool to the lower 40s by early Thursday morning."
