BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - The loud pop and crackle of firecrackers helped ring in the Year of the Monkey, Monday. Double dragons danced in front of Lee's International Market on Division Street in Biloxi to celebrate Tet, the most important holiday in the Vietnamese culture.
Along with dragon dances and firecrackers, Tet is also a time for family reunions, festivals and giving each other gifts.
"We like it, we come out here every year, every time they do it. We live next door, like to come and enjoy the drums and the dragons and stuff. Pretty good event for the kids and stuff," said Mark Seymour.
The Lion Dance Team from the Buddhist Temple also performed at three other businesses Monday in D'Iberville and Gautier.
