BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Gulf Coast Carnival Association will hold court in the Mississippi Gulf Coast Coliseum Monday night. GCCA's King D'Iberville, James "Jim" Hardaman, and Queen Ixolib, Kimberley Nicole Rushton, rehearsed the tableau for tonight's ball along with the rest of their Royal Court.
The ball is a dazzling display of choreography, pageantry and GCCA history. Monday morning into early afternoon everyone went through their paces making sure their heavy, beaded costumes flowed with grace and befitting of the pageantry that will reign this Fat Tuesday Eve.
The theme for the ball and Tuesday's parade through downtown Biloxi is: "Extra! Extra."
The Gulf Coast Carnival Association parade rolls at 1 p.m. It starts down Main Street, goes one block west on Highway 90, turns up Lameuse Street to Martin Luther King Junior, winds over to Reynoir, back to Highway 90 to Porter, going up to Howard and ends at Howard and Caillavet Street.
If you can't get to the parade, you can catch all the revelry on WLOX ABC and WLOX.com starting at one Tuesday afternoon. Dave Elliott, Karen Abernathy and Carrie Duncan will bring you all the merriment live from Biloxi City Hall.
