Prescribed burn in Harrison, Stone Counties to span 2,100 acres

SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) - A prescribed burn that will span 2,100 acres is planned in parts of Harrison and Stone Counties on Sunday.

According to the De Soto Ranger District, the burn will take place along Airey Tower Road, Martha Redmond Road, and forest service roads 435 and 415B.

As a result, a one-mile section of Tuxachanie Trail will be closed from the two forest service roads.

The De Soto Ranger District will be using a helicopter and ground crews to manage the fire.
