HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

A Hancock County student's art could be seen by millions of people all over the world.

Friday, representatives from Google unveiled the Mississippi winner of the "Doodle for Google" competition. Out of hundreds of thousands of submissions, Hancock High School junior Marie Konopacki was named one of 53 finalists.

The theme of the contest was "What Makes Me... Me", and Marie's design depicts her favorite hobbies; writing, art and running.

"It was indescribable, I was so excited," said Konopacki.

Marie won an Android tablet and her school will receive $2,500 to support the cross country and track teams.

Marie's design will now compete against the other state winners. The national winner will receive a large cash prize, and the art will be featured on Google's home page.
