On the heels of a big announcement about the job creation at the port of Gulfport, the port will be hosting a series of workshops on job awareness and preparedness.

The Pathways to the Port Jobs program is a partnership between The Mississippi State Port Authority (MSPA), the Port of Gulfport Restoration Program (PGRP), and the Mississippi Employment Security Commission’s Workforce Investment Network (WIN) Job Centers to let the public know about job opportunities associated with the Port of Gulfport.

The program brings employers together with those interested in a maritime-related career. Through the Pathways program, the port will help prepare the local workforce for jobs with individual assessments and training assistance.

The program will host a series of workshops this month along the three coastal counties.
