WLOX Editorial: We are glad to see our officials not just continuing the status quo for spending our tax dollars
Harrison County officials are looking to save about $200,000 by reworking a contract. And there could be another $200,000 in savings by making other changes. The proposals relate to security and location of the county's juvenile detention center.
We are glad to see our officials are considering changes and not just continuing the status quo for spending our tax dollars. All of our government entities should look for more efficient and better ways to operate and yes even save money.
In this case, it is sad that we need a juvenile detention center at all. But we know it is necessary.
We hope that our leaders come up with better ways to deal with wayward youth and get them back on the right track to be successful and contribute positively to our community.
