BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Heavy fog blankets the Coast for a second straight day. Low beams and fog lights are the thing for drivers in this low visibility weather. That and slowing it down, say police officers who often see more fender benders and accidents in such conditions.
Jay Dennison came to the Coast for a quick getaway from his home in central Florida. He's a contractor in the Sunshine State and was hoping the sun would break through here in coastal Mississippi.
If you have trouble seeing through the thick fog on Highway 90, imagine what it's like for sand beach crews.
"Lights on and just be extra careful," said Mike Taylor, whose heavy equipment was tough to see coming along the sand beach.
Taylor said he too has to drive with extra caution when the fog is so heavy.
"You can't even see Beau Rivage from here," said Taylor as he stood in the Biloxi lighthouse parking lot.
