GAUTIER, MS (WLOX) -

The Friends of the Jackson County Animal Shelter are holding a Yappin' Yard Sale today until noon to raise money for the shelter.

The event is being held at the Jackson County Soccer Complex, which is next door to the county shelter.

The shelter will also be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for anyone interested in adopting a cat or dog.

A wide variety of items will be for sale at the event, including toys, home decor, pet supplies, and much more. All funds raised at the event will benefit the Friends of the Jackson County Animal Shelter, a nonprofit organization that helps save the lives of sheltered animals.

The group sponsors pets when possible, helping to lower the cost so that more pets can find forever homes. Members also volunteer their time at the shelter, spending time with the pets that are up for adoption and donating supplies.

For more information on the organization, visit www.fjcasp.com or go to their Facebook page.
