Another Car-Train Accident Claims Two Lives

Two people are dead after their car was hit by a train in Gulfport Sunday afternoon.

Their deaths brings the total number of people killed in car-train accidents to 11 for the year.

Harrison County coroner Gary Hargrove said 23-year-old Tremayne Jackson was the driver of the car, and 22-year-old Nolan Duckworth was a passenger in that car. Their car was hit by a CSX train headed westbound around 32nd Avenue in Gulfport shortly after 4 p.m.

Both men are residents of Gulfport and were pronounced dead on the scene from head, neck and chest injuries. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
